Service Terms & Conditions
Gaining Ground RV Co. LLC d/b/a Gaining Ground Mobile RV Service
Version 2026-10-19
These Terms apply to diagnostic, repair, maintenance, installation and related mobile RV services performed by Gaining Ground Mobile RV Service ("Gaining Ground"). By approving an estimate, quote, work order or service authorization, electronically or otherwise, the customer confirms they have reviewed and accepted the version of these Terms in effect on the date of approval.
General Terms
1. Customer Authority
Customer represents that they are the owner of the RV or are authorized by the owner to request and approve service.
Customer authorizes Gaining Ground to inspect, diagnose, test, energize, operate, disconnect, disassemble and reassemble systems or components reasonably necessary to perform the authorized work, including appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, slide mechanisms, leveling systems, generators and other RV equipment reasonably necessary for diagnosis or repair verification.
2. Authorized Work
Gaining Ground will perform only work authorized by the customer.
The approved estimate or work order establishes the initial scope of work. If additional defects, required parts or materially increased labor are discovered, Gaining Ground will request additional authorization before proceeding beyond the approved scope.
Authorization may be provided by electronic signature, electronic estimate approval, text message, email or other documented communication.
3. Service Charges
Service-call, labor and travel rates are stated on the estimate or work order, or on Gaining Ground's current published rate sheet. Labor beyond any included time is billed in 15-minute increments.
Parts, materials, applicable taxes, special-order items and disclosed travel charges are additional unless specifically included in the estimate.
Diagnostic Service
4. Diagnostic Authorization
Diagnostic service is a professional troubleshooting process, not a guarantee that the cause of a problem will be identified within a specific amount of time.
RV failures may be intermittent, involve multiple systems, require disassembly, require manufacturer technical information, depend on conditions that cannot be duplicated during the service visit, or require replacement of a known failed component before additional faults can be identified.
Diagnostic time is billable whether or not:
- the defect is ultimately found;
- the customer authorizes the resulting repair;
- the component begins functioning normally during testing;
- additional diagnosis is required later;
- the problem is determined to be outside Gaining Ground's service scope; or
- a manufacturer, warranty administrator or insurer declines coverage.
A diagnostic finding represents the condition observed and the information available at the time of testing. It is not a guarantee against future failure or against the existence of additional concealed defects.
Repair Service
5. Repair Authorization
Customer authorizes repair of the components and systems specifically identified on the approved estimate or work order.
A repair to one component is not a representation that related systems or the RV as a whole are free of defects.
If removal or disassembly reveals additional deterioration, damage or improper prior work, the customer will be informed before material additional work is performed.
6. Concealed and Pre-Existing Conditions
RVs frequently contain conditions that cannot reasonably be detected before service begins, including:
- concealed water intrusion;
- wood rot;
- delamination;
- corrosion;
- brittle plastics;
- deteriorated wiring;
- heat-damaged conductors or terminals;
- aged plumbing fittings;
- previous improper repairs;
- undocumented modifications;
- inaccessible wiring or plumbing;
- structural deterioration;
- material fatigue;
- cross-threaded or seized hardware;
- improperly installed equipment; and
- manufacturer construction defects.
Gaining Ground is not responsible for a pre-existing condition, or for damage resulting from that condition, merely because it becomes apparent while performing authorized service.
7. Normal Disassembly Risk
Aged, corroded, heat-damaged, UV-damaged or previously modified components may break during otherwise reasonable disassembly. Examples include screws, fittings, plastic housings, clips, connectors, fasteners, hoses, seals and trim components.
If a component fails because of pre-existing deterioration, corrosion, material fatigue, prior damage or improper previous installation, replacement parts and additional authorized labor are the customer's responsibility.
Installation Service
8. Installation Authorization
Customer authorizes installation of the equipment identified on the estimate or work order.
Installation pricing assumes reasonably serviceable mounting surfaces, wiring, plumbing, structural supports and access unless otherwise stated.
If installation reveals inadequate wiring, damaged structure, incompatible components, missing parts, improper prior modifications or other conditions requiring additional work, Gaining Ground will request authorization before proceeding with material additional charges.
9. Equipment Compatibility
Gaining Ground will make reasonable efforts to verify compatibility based on available manufacturer information, model numbers, measurements and the condition visible before installation.
Compatibility cannot be guaranteed where:
- manufacturer information is incomplete or inaccurate;
- the RV has been modified;
- hidden construction differs from published specifications;
- the customer supplied the component; or
- another installer previously altered the system.
Customer-Supplied Parts
10. Customer-Provided Components
Gaining Ground may install customer-supplied parts at its discretion. Customer-supplied parts are installed at the customer's risk as to the part itself.
Gaining Ground does not warrant a customer-supplied part's compatibility, completeness, manufacturing quality, condition, performance or manufacturer warranty eligibility.
If a customer-supplied part is defective, incorrect, incomplete or incompatible, the customer remains responsible for diagnostic time, installation and removal labor, additional visits and any replacement work not caused by Gaining Ground's workmanship.
Roof Access & Roof Condition
11. Authorization to Access Roof
Customer authorizes Gaining Ground to access the RV roof when reasonably necessary to diagnose, inspect, service or install equipment.
Gaining Ground may refuse or discontinue roof access when the technician determines the roof cannot be safely accessed or worked upon.
12. Pre-Existing Roof Weakness
RV roof construction and condition vary significantly. A roof may contain concealed or visually undetectable:
- water-damaged decking;
- rotten wood;
- delamination;
- deteriorated adhesives;
- insufficient structural support;
- manufacturing defects;
- previous improperly completed repairs;
- aged or brittle membrane;
- soft spots;
- deteriorated sealants; or
- damage concealed beneath roofing materials.
Reasonable technician access, kneeling, walking or positioning equipment on a roof may expose or worsen a pre-existing structural or material weakness that was not reasonably detectable before access.
Gaining Ground is not responsible for failure attributable to such latent or pre-existing weakness merely because the condition becomes apparent during normal and reasonable roof access. This provision does not excuse damage directly caused by Gaining Ground's negligent or improper work.
13. Roof Repairs and Leak Diagnosis
Water intrusion can travel significant distances from its entry point before becoming visible.
Identification or repair of one suspected leak source does not guarantee that:
- another leak does not exist;
- prior water damage has not occurred;
- hidden structural damage is absent; or
- unrelated roof penetrations will remain watertight.
Unless the estimate specifically states otherwise, a localized roof repair is limited to the area serviced.
System-Specific Terms
14. Electrical, Solar and Battery Systems
Customer authorizes reasonable testing and operation of 12-volt DC, 120-volt AC, inverter, converter, charging, battery and solar systems when included in the authorized work.
Existing electrical systems may contain undocumented modifications, reversed polarity, improper wire sizing, loose connections, damaged insulation, improper overcurrent protection or other concealed defects.
Gaining Ground is responsible for the work it performs but is not responsible for unrelated pre-existing defects or failures elsewhere in the electrical system.
15. LP-Gas Systems and Appliances
Where LP-gas systems or appliances are serviced, testing reflects system conditions present at the time of service.
Customer agrees not to operate equipment that Gaining Ground has identified as unsafe or has tagged or disconnected pending repair.
A successfully completed operational test does not guarantee against a future component failure or gas leak occurring after service.
16. Plumbing and Water Systems
RV plumbing systems may contain aged fittings, brittle tubing, freeze damage, corrosion, prior modifications and concealed leaks.
Restoring pressure or water supply after repair can reveal additional leaks previously concealed by lack of pressure or another failed component. Such newly revealed defects are not automatically considered defects in Gaining Ground's workmanship.
17. Slides, Awnings and Leveling Systems
Customer authorizes reasonable operation of slides, awnings, leveling systems and similar mechanisms required for diagnosis or repair.
These systems can contain pre-existing alignment problems, structural damage, worn components, binding mechanisms, damaged gears, weak mounting points or improperly synchronized components. Operation during reasonable diagnostic testing may reveal an existing failure or cause an already-damaged component to complete its failure.
Gaining Ground is not responsible for failure attributable to a documented or reasonably established pre-existing condition.
Warranty
18. Limited Workmanship Warranty
Gaining Ground warrants that authorized repair and installation labor will be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner.
Stationary RV. If the RV remains stationary at the original service location, workmanship is warranted for 90 days from completion.
RV subsequently moved. Movement of the RV does not automatically eliminate coverage for a genuine workmanship defect. Warranty coverage does not extend to a condition caused or materially contributed to by:
- road vibration;
- chassis or body flex;
- towing;
- driving;
- relocation;
- setup or takedown;
- leveling;
- transport damage;
- impact; or
- other travel-related conditions occurring after service.
The warranty covers only the specific work performed by Gaining Ground. It does not cover unrelated failures, pre-existing conditions, normal wear, misuse or improper operation, manufacturer defects, customer-supplied parts, subsequent modifications, repair or alteration by another provider, or external events or environmental damage.
Service booked through a third-party platform. For service booked, quoted or paid through a third-party app or marketplace (for example, RV Help), workmanship is warranted for 30 days, under and subject to that platform's guarantee terms. Where those terms differ from this Section, the platform's terms control for that job. The 90-day period above applies to service booked directly with Gaining Ground.
Customer must give Gaining Ground a reasonable opportunity to inspect a claimed workmanship issue before another technician alters or repairs the affected work. Unauthorized third-party labor is not reimbursable.
19. Parts Warranty
Parts supplied by Gaining Ground carry only the warranty provided by the part's manufacturer or supplier. Gaining Ground makes no separate warranty on parts and will assist the customer in submitting a manufacturer warranty claim where one is available.
If a part fails within the applicable workmanship warranty period because of Gaining Ground's installation, correction is covered under Section 18. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect, labor to diagnose, remove and replace the part is billed at standard rates unless the manufacturer reimburses that labor.
20. Manufacturer and Extended-Warranty Work
Gaining Ground does not guarantee approval or payment by a manufacturer, insurer, extended-warranty administrator or service-contract provider.
Customer remains responsible for charges not paid by the third party, including diagnostics, travel, deductibles, non-covered labor, non-covered parts, shipping, upgraded components and additional visits.
Mobile Worksite
21. Customer Responsibilities
Customer will provide:
- lawful access to the RV;
- sufficient working space;
- a reasonably safe work area;
- secured pets;
- access to required compartments;
- permission from the campground, storage facility or property owner where required; and
- access to utilities reasonably required for testing.
Gaining Ground may stop or postpone work because of unsafe conditions, severe weather, inadequate access, property restrictions or conditions requiring shop equipment unavailable in a mobile environment.
Payment
22. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of authorized service unless different written terms appear on the invoice. Customer remains responsible for authorized charges regardless of anticipated reimbursement by another party.
23. Late Payment
Balances unpaid 30 days after the invoice due date are past due. Past-due balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month, or the maximum rate permitted by law, whichever is less, from the due date until paid.
Customer is responsible for reasonable costs of collecting past-due balances, including collection agency fees, court costs and reasonable attorney fees, to the extent permitted by law. Returned or reversed payments may be charged a returned-payment fee as permitted by law.
24. Cancellation and No-Show
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled before technician dispatch without a service-call charge unless different terms were disclosed during scheduling.
Once Gaining Ground has dispatched, arrived or begun work, charges already incurred for service, travel, diagnostics, labor, special-order parts or materials are due.
Limitation of Responsibility
25. Specific Scope
Gaining Ground is responsible for the specific authorized work it performs. Gaining Ground is not responsible for losses or failures arising from:
- concealed or pre-existing conditions;
- unrelated systems;
- manufacturer defects;
- previously performed work;
- customer-supplied parts;
- undisclosed modifications;
- customer misuse;
- failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions;
- weather;
- rodents;
- collision;
- road hazards;
- movement or travel;
- subsequent third-party work; or
- other conditions outside Gaining Ground's reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Gaining Ground is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, trip interruption, campground charges, hotel expenses, lost income, spoiled food or similar costs arising from an RV or component failure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility that applicable law does not permit the parties to exclude or limit.
26. Customer Duty to Prevent Additional Damage
If a leak, electrical fault, plumbing failure, overheating condition or other potentially damaging condition develops after service, customer agrees to take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage and to promptly notify Gaining Ground.
Examples include shutting off water or power, discontinuing operation of affected equipment, protecting the RV from active water intrusion and avoiding continued operation of a visibly unsafe system.
Records & Communications
27. Photographs and Service Records
Customer authorizes Gaining Ground to photograph or record the RV, components, serial and model numbers, defects, work areas and completed repairs for service documentation, warranty administration, insurance documentation and business records.
Separate permission will be obtained before identifiable customer or property photographs are used for advertising or social media.
28. Electronic Records and Signatures
Customer agrees to conduct business electronically. Estimates, approvals, invoices, signatures and service communications may be provided electronically, and electronic approvals and signatures constitute the customer's written authorization.
Disputes & General Provisions
29. Dispute Resolution
Customer agrees to notify Gaining Ground in writing of any dispute regarding service or charges and to allow Gaining Ground a reasonable opportunity to resolve it in good faith before pursuing other remedies.
30. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any legal action arising from services or these Terms will be brought in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
31. Order of Precedence
The approved estimate or work order controls scope, price and any terms it specifically states. These Terms control everything else.
32. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted.
33. Changes to These Terms
Gaining Ground may update these Terms. The version in effect on the date the customer approves an estimate or work order governs that job.
